Chelsea have registered an interest in signing Balogun, and he is open to moving to Stamford Bridge, according to the Evening Standard. The Blues have made contact with Arsenal about a potential deal, with the Gunners believed to want in the region of £50m before allowing Balogun to leave.  Balogun enjoyed a breakthrough campaign while on loan at Stade Reims last season, netting 21 league goals to steer his side to a mid-table finish. After the huge influx of purchases last summer and in January 2023, the opposite has happened in the summer of 2023. Loads of senior players have been sold by Chelsea as they look to trim the wage bill and general squad size, partly for Financial Fair Play but also for sporting reasons. There were simply too many of them last season and they are still selling actively. Nicolas Jackson has revealed he sought the advice of Sadio Mane before moving to Chelsea and got a glowing appraisal of new boss Mauricio Pochettino from his compatriot.
