Kepa Arrizabalaga makes Spain World cup squad with Manchester United star left out.

It appears Kepa Arrizabalaga's hardwork and top performance for the Blues have paid off as the 28-year old has been included in the 55-man preliminary World cup squad for Spain, with Manchester United star left out.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been included in Spain's 55-man preliminary World Cup squad for the World Cup.

This comes after an excellent run of form by the 28-year old under Graham Potter. The Spaniard has started every game under Potter keeping five clean sheets while producing some top-class saves in the process.

According to AS, The 28-year-old is now set to be rewarded for his impressive stint in between the sticks for Chelsea with a spot in Spain's 55-man preliminary World Cup squad.

Luis Enrique has reportedly sent off a squad of 55 players, of which his final 26-man squad will be selected from, that consists of five players in each position with Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea missing out entirely.

Brentford's David Raya and Brighton's Robert Sanchez are likely to remain above Kepa in the pecking order, but his inclusion in the preliminary squad shows Enrique has been impressed by his performances in west London and it's possible a starting place could be on the cards if he continues his notable displays.

With De Gea missing out entirely, David Soria have been chosen as back-up for Kepa in case of any injuries or illnesses prior to the tournament.

The former’s inclusion in the squad may come as a surprise considering he has played half as many Premier League games this season compared to De Gea.

The only other known players that have made Spain’s list are full-backs Alejandro Balde, Jordi Alba and Jose Gaya.

The revered Portuguese coach was furious with the medics, telling reporters afterwards: “I wasn’t happy with my medical staff because even if you are a medical doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game.” Mourinho felt that the medical intervention had affected his team’s chances of scoring a late winner and securing two more points.
