Chelsea star 'investigated' ahead of January move to Newcastle United.

Pundit, Frank McAvennie has claimed Jorginho is “being investigated” at Chelsea ahead of a possible move to Newcastle United.

Jorginho is a player that has become a massive part of this side over the past few seasons – but that has not stopped speculation about his long-term future at the club.

He has constantly been linked with a move back to Italian football over the past few seasons – where the likes of Juventus and Napoli are supposedly looking to bring him back to Seria A

But it has now been claimed that Graham Potter is said to be keen on reducing the average age of his squad with Jorginho one of the players that could be shipped out – and that has opened the door for Newcastle to show an interest in the player.

However – McAvennie is worried about Jorginho’s behaviour at Stamford Bridge and has claimed that the possible Newcastle signing is now being investigated by the Blues.

“I do not see him fighting,” he told Football Insider.

“I do not see an urgency. Maybe there is something happening behind the scenes. I would think there will be investigations into that one.

“He might just go for the money. Newcastle have to be so careful they do not want that. I do not know if he is the way forward for Newcastle.

“I think Eddie Howe will want to bring in players who will be there for the next four or five years.

“I think by that point they will be challenging for everything. Jorginho might be good enough for a season or two and it might be what he needs.“

CONFIRMED: Todd Boehly finally decides on FIVE players who will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Todd Boehly has decided he will offload five Chelsea players.  Since taking over as Co-owner of Chelsea, it has not clicked for Todd Boehly despite splashing the cash to sign some of the big names in world football.  Consecutive run of losses and sloppy display from players are two core reasons the Blues will be considering a squad overhaul this summer, and five players will be offloaded. According to a report from the Spanish publication SPORT, it is claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are being lined up for sale which could raise a whopping £129 million. If the market values of the players in question are met, it would provide the incoming Chelsea manager with a hefty transfer chest to spend and bring in a couple of new faces to bolster the squad over the summer.
