Report: Chelsea now back in race for £119,000-per-week attacker who Thomas Tuchel really wanted at Stamford Bridge last summer.

Per reports, Chelsea are back in contention for the former Leeds United winger.

Reports from Spain have claimed that Chelsea are interested again in signing Raphinha next summer.

According to Sport, the Blues are one of the clubs who could potentially help Barcelona with their financial issues by signing the Brazilian after less than a year at the club.

Recall Chelsea had been close to sealing a deal with Leeds United for the winger in the summer of 2022, but Raphinha's preference for Barcelona had stalled the deal. The deal hasn’t been a complete success so far, with him at times not being part of the starting side at the Nou Camp.

Their European exploits have been a notable failure too. After going out in the group stage of the Champions League, they fell at the first hurdle in the Europa League to Manchester United.

With them now in a position again where they need to raise funds to act in the transfer window, there has been talk of who could leave in order to bring in that money.

Sport claims that Raphinha could be one of the players surplus to requirements, with Chelsea again showing an interest in a deal.

Previous manager Thomas Tuchel was extremely keen on partnering the Brazil international with Raheem Sterling the wingers at Stamford Bridge.

It is unclear whether Graham Potter holds the same desire to work with the winger, especially after a winter transfer window where they signed Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke to strengthen that position.

New reports also suggest that English side, Newcastle United are interested in Raphinha as they are on the search for an efficient forward to bolster their attack.

Remember Eva Caneiro? The former Chelsea Doctor? The Blues could be seeing her back in football action again, this time, in the World Cup.  One of the major incidents during Mourinho's second spell at Chelsea was the 'dismissal' of the club's Doctor, Eva Caneiro at the time.  Per GiveaMeSport, on the opening weekend of the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, Mourinho clashed with the then-Chelsea physio after she ran onto the pitch alongside colleague Jon Fearn to treat the injured Eden Hazard. Mourinho’s side were drawing 2-2 against Swansea City and the game had entered injury-time when the incident occurred. The revered Portuguese coach was furious with the medics, telling reporters afterwards: “I wasn’t happy with my medical staff because even if you are a medical doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game.” Mourinho felt that the medical intervention had affected his team’s chances of scoring a late winner and securing two more points.
