Chelsea set to hijack deal for £40M rated Serie A star from Manchester United.

Per reports from Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Manchester United target.

•Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea are keeping tabs on 20-year-old Serie A ace on Man United’s radar.

• Fabrizio Romano claims Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Manchester United target Rasmus Hojlund.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United, and Chelsea have both sent scouts to see Atalanta star Rasmus Hojlund.

Additionally, the Blues have discussed the young player’s potential transfer to Chelsea with Atlanta’s chief executive, Luca Percassi. The 20-year-old has also informed the Serie A powerhouses that he plans to leave the team during the summer transfer window.

This season, the Danish striker has been remarkable, tallying 15 goals in all competitions. Although United are keen on signing the youngster, Chelsea could scupper their plans.

Chelsea’s struggles to score goals have been made clear this year, and the Blues would like a top striker to adapt to the Premier League and at least score 20 goals or more.

Additionally, their prior striker acquisitions have not contributed a bit, and they intend to thoroughly evaluate potential number nines before making any deals. Romano has explained on his Youtube channel that Chelsea had sent scouts to assess the 20-year-old’s performance, as he said:

“Chelsea and Manchester United have sent their scouts to follow Rasmus Hojlund recently. So Chelsea know the player very well and are following the player.”

Hojlund’s 15 goals this season show he has a lot of potential, but at the age of 20, he still has a long way to go. The 20-year-old will take time to develop into a top striker and will also take time to reach the level of consistency expected of a top-tier ace.

Hojlund

Although Hojlund’s move to the Blues has its advantages given Mauricio Pochettino’s tradition of assisting young players to develop into elite players, we again need a striker who is fully developed and ready to have an instant impact.

CONFIRMED: Todd Boehly finally decides on FIVE players who will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Todd Boehly has decided he will offload five Chelsea players.  Since taking over as Co-owner of Chelsea, it has not clicked for Todd Boehly despite splashing the cash to sign some of the big names in world football.  Consecutive run of losses and sloppy display from players are two core reasons the Blues will be considering a squad overhaul this summer, and five players will be offloaded. According to a report from the Spanish publication SPORT, it is claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are being lined up for sale which could raise a whopping £129 million. If the market values of the players in question are met, it would provide the incoming Chelsea manager with a hefty transfer chest to spend and bring in a couple of new faces to bolster the squad over the summer.
