"I want to join Chelsea!" Incredible 21-year-old desperate for Stamford Bridge move with the Blues set to reach agreement for him.
The incredible 21-year old wants to join Chelsea.
Chelsea have nearly agreed a deal with Brighton for the transfer of Moises Caicedo this summer.
That is according to journalist Rudy Galetti.
After weeks of speculation, Moises Caicedo may be on the verge of joining Chelsea and securing a high-profile switch to Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Simon Phillips claimed on his Substack back in May that Caicedo was emerging as Chelsea’s main target in the midfield this summer.
So, could the Blues be about to land their 21-year-old priority?
Galetti reported on Twitter yesterday that Chelsea and Brighton are going into the “final stage” of negotiations for the Caicedo deal.
It is understood the Premier League rivals have agreed a £75million transfer sum, but they still need to reach an agreement for potential add-ons.
He adds that the Ecuador international is pushing hard to secure a move to the Bridge this summer.
“Moises Caicedo, the talks between Chelsea and Brighton are entering in the final stage,” Galetti said.
“Understand the two clubs agreed the fixed amount of the transfer (£75m) and now they are discussing the add-ons.
“Moises is keen to join Chelsea and he’s pushing for the move.”
Caicedo, who’s been described as “incredible” by Adam Lallana (Football Daily), is definitely the type of signing Chelsea need to wrap up quickly.
There’s been a mass exodus already this summer at the club, especially in the midfield areas.
We certainly needed to trim an oversized squad that couldn’t function right last season, but we’re really short in the centre of the park at this moment in time.
Caicedo’s an all-action defensive midfielder that would be a statement addition to the Blues midfield. We love the idea of pairing him alongside Enzo Fernandez, too.
Chelsea have announced the additions of Christopher Nkunku, along with Nicolas Jackson, ahead of the new season. Let’s hope Caicedo soon makes it a hat-trick of new recruits.
