Chelsea now set to sign £130,000-per-week player who warned Ben Chilwell not to join the Blues in the past

Chelsea now reportedly interested in signing ‘brilliant’ player who warned Ben Chilwell against joining them.
Reports have claimed recently that Chelsea are interested in signing goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel this summer.
According to The Guardian, the Blues are considering a move for the Denmark international as a direct response to the club letting Kepa Arrizabalaga leave on loan.
It emerged over the past few days the Kepa was open to a move away from Stamford Bridge, and the club seemed as if they weren’t going to stand in his way.
This came after they struck a deal to sign Robert Sanchez from Brighton.
The Spaniard made his first appearance for his new club yesterday, and looked relatively assured up against Liverpool.
There was nothing he could do about Luis Diaz’s opening goal, although there were some notable moments where his presence would have given supporters plenty of encouragement.
With no Kepa though, the Blues will likely need a new goalkeeper to offer competition, and it seems they have added Schmeichel to the list.
Currently in France, the goalkeeper has previously been described as ‘brilliant’.
He has previously played with a number of current Chelsea players at Leicester, and one of those was Ben Chilwell.
However, he notably warned the defender to not actually make the move to Stamford Bridge.
He said: “It’s a case of looking at the opportunities that come along and you ask yourself: ‘Is this going to be better for me? Am I going to improve myself as a keeper? The grass is not always greener on the other side.
“It is about recognising what you do have and being grateful for what you do have. What I have here is a club that took me in at a time during my career when I felt so unwelcome and they made me feel so wanted. From what we have done together, it’s created a unique bond.
“Speaking to other players around the league, no other club communicates like we do. This club makes you feel valued, it makes you feel special. All the highs and lows we have had together it’s become very much like family. I haven’t seen a relationship between owners, players and staff anywhere like you have here.
“When we play Chelsea with N’Golo or Riyad with Manchester City, these players always come into our dressing-room afterwards and they always say: ‘Yeah, it’s great where we are, but we miss the people and the spirit at Leicester."
