Romeo Lavia Chelsea training and return date confirmed.

EXCLUSIVE: Romeo Lavia training and return date confirmed.

Romeo Lavia was a standout player for Southampton last season as the club were relegated from the Premier League and he has since signed for Chelsea for a fee that could reach £58million

The 19-year-old Belgian midfielder only signed for the Blues from Saints last week for an initial £53million, rising to £58million with add-ons. Lavia was not named in the Blues squad for their 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday where fellow new midfield arrival Moises Caicedo, signed for £115million from Brighton, gave away a late penalty.

The teenager was hugely impressive last season in a poor Southampton team that suffered relegation from the Premier League. Lavia caught the attention of several top clubs with his performances, with Liverpool seeing three bids rejected for him this summer before he moved to Stamford Bridge

The Blues play twice more before the transfer window closes on September 1, facing newly-promoted Luton Town at the Bridge this weekend before hosting neighbours AFC Wimbledon on August 30 in the Carabao Cup second round.

However, the Blues held their first training session on Tuesday since their defeat to west Ham United on Sunday and Lavia was nowhere to be seen in training. It is rumored that the midfielder is currently injured with an ankle discomfort, but these reports are however not confirmed.

Many brows are raised concerning the midfielder's whereabouts as he is believed to be an excellent pairing with Caicedo and Enzo Fernández.

Mauricio Pochettino's last press conference ahead of west Ham didn't suggest the Belgian had any form of injury however he was also absent for the Sunday outing.

The Blues head coach will hold a pre-match briefing ahead of Friday's Luton clash, and we hope the issue of Lavia's absence will be addressed.

CONFIRMED: Todd Boehly finally decides on FIVE players who will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Todd Boehly has decided he will offload five Chelsea players.  Since taking over as Co-owner of Chelsea, it has not clicked for Todd Boehly despite splashing the cash to sign some of the big names in world football.  Consecutive run of losses and sloppy display from players are two core reasons the Blues will be considering a squad overhaul this summer, and five players will be offloaded. According to a report from the Spanish publication SPORT, it is claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are being lined up for sale which could raise a whopping £129 million. If the market values of the players in question are met, it would provide the incoming Chelsea manager with a hefty transfer chest to spend and bring in a couple of new faces to bolster the squad over the summer.
