This is why Chelsea signed Deivid Washington | Deivid Washington skills, goals, and assists

Deivid Washington is one of Chelsea's youngest Brazilian hotshots under Todd Boehly.

Chelsea confirmed the signing of the 18-year-old forward on Thursday afternoon on a 7+1 year contract.

Chelsea faced stiff competition from AS Monaco for Deivid.

Although Deivid Washington is one name unfamiliar to Chelsea fans, we'll take a brief look into his profile and just why he is the perfect choice for Chelsea.

How good is Deivid and where does he play?

Deivid primarily operates as a centre-forward but is versatile enough to be deployed on either wing, too, potentially making him an extremely useful attacking option for the Blues.

Deivid made his professional debut in April and has gone on to feature 16 times for the Santos first team in all competitions, scoring twice.

He scored on each of his first two starts for the iconic club from Sao Paulo, who have boasted such superstars as Pele and Neymar over the years.

CONFIRMED: Todd Boehly finally decides on FIVE players who will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Todd Boehly has decided he will offload five Chelsea players.  Since taking over as Co-owner of Chelsea, it has not clicked for Todd Boehly despite splashing the cash to sign some of the big names in world football.  Consecutive run of losses and sloppy display from players are two core reasons the Blues will be considering a squad overhaul this summer, and five players will be offloaded. According to a report from the Spanish publication SPORT, it is claimed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are being lined up for sale which could raise a whopping £129 million. If the market values of the players in question are met, it would provide the incoming Chelsea manager with a hefty transfer chest to spend and bring in a couple of new faces to bolster the squad over the summer.
