£29M Chelsea player "upset" with Mauricio Pochettino over what he has just done.

£29m Chelsea player is now surely upset by what Mauricio Pochettino has just done.

Noni Madueke may be feeling quite down at Chelsea after Mauricio Pochettino agreed to sign Cole Palmer from Manchester City.

The Telegraph believe the Argentine has green lighted the £45m move, and Fabrizio Romano adds that the 21-year-old will undergo a medical in London on Thursday.

So, why might Noni Madueke be upset to see Cole Palmer join him at Chelsea? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the Chelsea No.11 is actually good friends with the England Under-21 international.

Madueke commented the word “proud” on Palmer’s Instagram after he scored in the UEFA Super Cup win over Sevilla midway through August, after the pair rose through the England youth ranks together.

Palmer himself then celebrated Madueke’s goal against AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday with an Instagram comment of his own.

While Madueke may be pleased to see his pal arrive at Stamford Bridge from a social point of view, he is surely concerned when it comes to his professional aspiratins.

The 21-year-old only made seven Premier League starts last season after joining in a £29m move from PSV Eindhoven in January.

Madueke is yet to start a Premier League game under Mauricio Pochettino – playing just 16 minutes in the league this season – so the fact a direct rival for his position is now arriving in Palmer surely.

If Madueke was already starting games for Chelsea, then it’s a different story – a confident player like him would surely welcome the competition in that respect.

However, the fact Pochettino did not actually sign Madueke himself, and has now bought a similar forward in Palmer, means alarm bells may be ringing in the Londoner’s head.

The South American has become known for his warm approach to players, with many praising his man management skills in the past.

Hopefully, Pochettino will now put his qualities to use with Madueke, and keep the winger focused – we would like to think the Argentine has already explained the signing of Palmer to his No.11 at Cobham.

On his day, the £29m man is an electric player, and he can hopefully become a real asset for Chelsea in addition to Palmer, rather than being forced out by the £45m winger.

Remember Eva Caneiro? The former Chelsea Doctor? The Blues could be seeing her back in football action again, this time, in the World Cup.  One of the major incidents during Mourinho's second spell at Chelsea was the 'dismissal' of the club's Doctor, Eva Caneiro at the time.  Per GiveaMeSport, on the opening weekend of the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, Mourinho clashed with the then-Chelsea physio after she ran onto the pitch alongside colleague Jon Fearn to treat the injured Eden Hazard. Mourinho’s side were drawing 2-2 against Swansea City and the game had entered injury-time when the incident occurred. The revered Portuguese coach was furious with the medics, telling reporters afterwards: “I wasn’t happy with my medical staff because even if you are a medical doctor or secretary on the bench, you have to understand the game.” Mourinho felt that the medical intervention had affected his team’s chances of scoring a late winner and securing two more points.
